Over the past few years, I’ve been on a journey of spiritual and self-exploration. I wrote a bit about it in my last post explaining what an Energetic Lifestyle is and how I came to form a brand around that idea. One of the major concepts from my exploration and research that really resonates with me is the Law of Attraction.
The Law of Attraction
The basic idea of the Law of Attraction is that we are all made of energy, vibrating at a particular resonance. We attract into our lives the experiences that match the level of this vibration. If we are putting out into the world lower vibrations of fear, anxiety, or even hate, we will attract negative experiences that match these low vibrations (and, one can argue, validate these negative emotions and experiences, ultimately producing more of them). On the other hand, if we are putting out into the world higher vibrations of love, abundance, and gratitude, we will attract positive experiences. The best part of the Law of Attraction is that we can take steps to raise our vibration and attract more positive experiences into our lives! I can honestly say to you that, by putting into practice the concepts of the Law of Attraction, I have made significant, and measurable, positive changes in my attitudes, outlook, and overall life. Of all of the concepts behind the Law of Attraction, I believe that the most important is learning to experience gratitude.
Personally, one of the most powerful tools for positive change in my life was learning to feel true gratitude. Gratitude as a practice in my daily life was pretty non-existent before discovering it as a part of the Law of Attraction. Sure, in the past, I had plenty to feel grateful for if I thought about it. My experience of gratitude was one centered around “thank yous” and “it could always be worse” mentalities. When you are having negative experiences in your life, feeling grateful because “it could be worse” is not doing much to raise your vibration and improve your situation. To truly feel gratitude in those negative times, you must focus on the good in your life, despite the bad. I recall the exact moment this clicked for me. I realized that experiencing true gratitude comes from sitting in the feeling of being grateful for even the smallest things in your life. The moment I understood this, I was sitting with the feeling of being grateful for the opportunity to work next to the window at my job and watch the sun, sky, and people. At that moment, I was able to put my current scared, defeated, and hopeless state out of my mind and feel truly grateful for that one tiny thing. I let the gratitude wash over me and I could actually feel my energetic vibrations raise.
Gratitude as a Daily Practice
One of the quickest ways to consistently raise your vibration is to create a daily practice of gratitude. When you wake, at intervals throughout the day, and before you go to sleep, think of a few things you are grateful for and sit with the deep feeling of gratitude surrounding them. Let the gratitude wash over you until you can feel its warm glow in your heart. The more consistently you practice feeling gratitude, the easier it will be for you to dispel negative feelings and experiences by choosing to feel grateful and positive instead. Mistakes become chances to learn and uncomfortable situations become opportunities for growth. When you adopt this type of positive mentality on a daily basis, you will raise your energetic vibrations, and your experiences and life will improve.
